IT’S GOT A NICE CLING TO IT

We had a big announcement at OnStage. Everyone was very excited. Stampin' Up! are launching a new kind of stamp that clings like crazy, however the other announcement was that Wood mount stamps are going to be discontinued. I must say I'm a little sad about that but change is always good and I am looking forward to this new change..

I would love to share this video with you as I am so excited, as you will be when you check out this change.

So check out Natalie as she teaches you how to use the new cling stamps in this informative video.

The last few classes

The end of the year is here and my little studio is having a break and a clean up. The last few classes using our lovely Beautiful Baubles stamp set have produced some fabulous Christmas Cards. Now I just have to make sure I get them posted out on time. Who else is running behind schedule?

Here are a few of the cards we made, which one is your favourite?

So what do you think of all those cards? Do you think they will be well received?
Enjoy the Christmas break and stay safe.

A very sad day

If you have been following me for a few years you will know that not only do I have my own card classes, but I also volunteer at a few places. One of them is Bluecare, the ladies and gentleman that have come to my classes over the last few years have become good friends and sadly I was told that one of my very special ladies passed away.

Beryl was so special, she did the most beautiful silk ribbon embroidery and it was only in the last few months that I also found out that she was a good artist. At the end of each class I would give her all the kits that did not get used and she would make them up for others in the village. If anyone wanted a card they always called on Beryl.  She will be missed.

Over the years I have lost many out of my classes but Beryl and Aussie are my two special people. Now from the original class members there is now only Aussie remaining. He is 100 years young and a lovely man with a very interesting history. Below is a photo of him at my card class with his daughter.

While my heart is broken for losing this lovely woman, I look forward to seeing Aussie and my new class members in the new year and no doubt will form more new friendships.
If you are thinking about volunteering, please take that step. You will not regret it.

ALL IS BRIGHT MEGA SUITE

Christmas is coming, have you been working on your cards? I am coming to the end of my Christmas Card making classes. However I must say I am tempted with this lovely Suite. All Is Bright mega suite is mega festive and you are going to love it.

If you are a casual stamper this card would be suitable for you. A banner of Designer Series Paper, a stamped label and ribbon embellishment.

For the avid stamper then what do you think of this one.  A layer of embossed card using the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, a layer of Designer Series Paper, then a final layer of vellum. The Merry Christmas is cut out with our dies along with the holly, add a bit of red bling for the berries. The stamped sentiment is layered on to a stamped label. Love it!

Whatever level of stamping you are up to this suite will give you what you really need this season—more Christmas fun!

The winner is...

Thank you to all the beautiful entries that we received. It  was very hard to pick a winner, however we have, in fact we have two winners.
When it came down to choosing between these two they could not choose, so luckily Liz Collett had two Paper Pumpkin Kits so she suggested that they both get one.

So here they are...

Mavis Edwards your card was so intricate, with baubles dangling on each layer. Oh my word, so much work.

Jenny Coleman, wow we just love shaker cards and this was so pretty.

We hope you both enjoy your Paper Pumpkin Packs.

For all the others that entered the competition, thank you and I wish we could have given everyone a prize, they were all lovely.

Quota Charity Craft Fair

Another of the events that I and my Paper Angel colleagues attend was the Quota Charity Craft Fair. This time in bigger and better premises. This Fair has been going on for about 12 years now and all monies goes to Aspergers Syndrome and Cleft Pals.

It was a terrible rainy day, so everyone was worried that this might keep people in their homes. Nope they came through the door in droves. We had the stall set up looking very smart

We had make and takes set up and were kept very busy, as well as having special workshops with all monies going to Quota.

Catching up on the news

Gosh I really have to catch you all up on the news. It has been so long. I was so involved with all our events. Quota Craft Fair, Paper Angels Charity events and of course OnStage.

Well the Paper Angels Charity events were a great success. We have raised enough monies to purchase all the products to make and supply to our many hospitals.

At the Carina event, apart from having a great day making gorgeous projects we had a challenge put out to everyone attending by my colleague Liz Collett. The prize for this challenge is a Paper Pumpkin card pack, that is being trialed by some demonstrators. Paper Pumpkin is a very popular way of making many cards and even a beginner card maker can use this pack. I wonder if this product will get released in Australia...

Well the challenge was to go home and create some more cards or 3D projects using the Baubles stamp set that everyone received. A photo of the cards was sent to their demonstrator and would be judged impartially on the 30th November.

Here are the cards that were created. It would have been very difficult to choose a winner, I'm so glad it was not up to me to choose.

Well what do you think? What is your favourite card? Do you want to know who won the challenge?
Me too!! I will be heading over to Liz's studio tomorrow to find out the winner and then I shall let you all know. In the mean time, please leave a comment on the one you like.

More on my fun at On Stage

Such an exciting day and one of the highlights was getting to see the new Occasionals Catalogue and the Sale-a-Bration catalogue. Yes not long now till Sale-a-Bration, who doesn't love FREEBIES!!!
Also it is a great time of year to Join Stampin' Up! as they always make it extra enticing during Sale-a-Bration.

Here is the Occasionals Catalogue and our Sale-A Bration catalogue. I've had some good bedtime reading since I got my hot little hands on them.

So you are probably wondering what was in my box, if you had read my previous post.

I opened up the box and read the lovely words of Thanks.

Lots of oohs and aahs over the lovely bag,

Stamp Sets, note books, biros, card kits. So much to drool over.

We were shown presentations on the new products, boy does that get you excited. Why is it that when you think you have all that you need, you find something that is just a must have?

Then of course there is PRIZE PATROL. Throughout the day all of us lucky demonstrators listen for the drum roll and our lucky colour to be called out. My Prize Patrol was a beautiful stamp set.

We got to make some fabulous make & takes. Can you guess which one was my favourite and a must have for me.

A little catch up news

Life has been rather hectic lately so my blog has had a bit of a back seat. Only posting when I get a minute. So here is a little catch up news.

30 years ago two sisters began the Stampin' Up!® company.

Their mission was simple, as detailed in its Statement of the Heart:

To love what we do and share what we love
As we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments.
In this we make a difference.

Now 30 years later, at On Stage in Brisbane, we celebrated with other demonstrators and got rather spoilt. This is something that Stampin" Up!® do each year, although this tear was rather special as it was their 30th Anniversary.

I was lucky enough to be treated to a special dinner, the evening before our On Stage fun began. The theme was Black and White. Rather exciting for me as I had to wear a dress and most people that know me know that I don't wear dresses very much.

The tables were set up beautifully,

and we got to see what we were going to
receive the next day. Look at this beautiful box.

This young man all the way from the states looked after us so well.

We had a photo booth to capture some happy memories.

Quite a few of our Paper Angels attended this event.

Image may contain: 8 people, including Anna Wheaton, Paula Mills and Felicity Laritz, people smiling, people standing

Such a great evening, however the next day was FANTASTIC!!

Stay tuned and see what fun we had at our full on day at On Stage.
