What a great day

My day was so full today and now I am so exhausted I can't even drag myself off to bed. BUT what a great day. Started off with a ladies class this morning and made a couple of nice cards. Then a quick lunch and tidy up for the Children's class. Then worked on the Craft and Gift Fair we are  organising for October. Phew can someone carry me to bed.

These are a couple of the cards we made this morning. Really great what you can do with the leftover scraps of DSP. I think I will make a pack of these and use up all my offcuts. Just another reason why Stampin Up card is so good to use, it all coordinates!

The children's class was fun fun fun. We started out with this cute butterfly card and as there was a boy attending he used the dinosaur stamp set.

Then we moved on to another butterfly card and of course another dinosaur card.
I was holding back on the fun one for the last card and WOW were they thrilled with it. This little owl was created between peals of laughter as they added funny cross eyes and raised eyebrows. The children are so creative. I love how they put their own personality into the cards.

Here are two of the little munchkins proudly showing off their masterpieces, they sure look happy with them. Not sure what his mother will think of this photo, it's one of his favourite poses.
Oops I forgot to tell you what I used

Please comment...

Good evening all. I have been told that people are unable to comment on my blog:(
Soooo could some of my regular followers or maybe a newbie comment on this post just so I know that it is all working OK.

Now I couldn't just post without sharing something and since I haven't taken any photos of my latest cards I thought I would post something very special. My dear husband (Poppa) and my very dear grandson (James).
Poppa made the castle for James's birthday and I painted it. He is very proud of it and all his friends love playing knights and recon he is lucky to have such a great Poppa.  I think he is too.

Card#5

Oops sorry I thought I had posted this.
Well this is the last of my top 5 favourites from the new catalogue. There were so many to choose from and of course I don't have them all yet. My wish list gets longer by the day. Why not organise a workshop with a few friends and I can show you all the great projects I have been working on so far.

This card was made from the new Coordinations cardstock. It has a different coloured core, so on sanding it back you get a different coloured layer. Using it with the new Woodgrain embossing folder it gives a really life like look of tree bark.

This is a cute little card as it is folded in an uneven gate fold and the Owl sits over the opening and is held together with a scallop oval. Gee I didn't explain that very well. Sorry!! I hope the picture below shows it better than I described it.

I sponged the Pacific Point circle to make it look like the sky behind him.

I hope you enjoyed my top five.

Stay tuned as I am going to be holding a couple of childrens workshops over the school holidays, so if you are interested email me or phone to book in.

ALSO don't forget if you want to take part in the Paper Angels Christmas Card Workshop you will need to book in soon as some of the venues are already full.

Card #4

Mmmnn I keep using the Blossom punch, I wonder if I could class this as one of my favourites now! Actually I used a few punches in this card. The ornament punch made the leaves. Can you work out the others?
The Summer Smooches DSP is pretty cool, I think it might find it's way to my little ladies, you'll just have to stay tuned.
I embossed the Whisper White card with  the new Adorning Accents embossing folder. All the punched edges were sponged to give each layer a bit of depth. Such a quick and simple card.

Groovy baby....

I was asked to make another of my little ladies. This one is for a young lady turning 17. Her aunty asked if it could be something groovy like my other birthday lady. Well not wanting to make exactly the same card again I pulled out all my Designer Series Paper till I found one that got my brain a churning.
I drew my girl up, sponged around her and then dressed her in the groovy (retired) DSP. Then I cut her hair out of the new Coordinations card stock in Early Expresso and then ran it through the woodgrain embossing folder.
The stack of pressies was made using Melon Mambo card embossed and glittered, Pool Party and So Saffron. I cut the 17 free hand.

Don't you just love her groovy shoes, they were a little tricky to cut out but worth all my breath holding.

Her sunnies were made using Acetate coloured with a red felt pen and then rubbed off to just leave a stain. I then punched them out with the Owl punch and set them up with Glue dots.
The background is supposed to resemble a Disco with dripping lights and kooky lanterns. Do you think I achieved that?

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, So Safron, Pool Party, Early Expresso, Skin Tone
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Pink Seam binding ribbon, Basic Rhinestone Jewel, Stripes embossing folder, Square Lattice embossing folder

Card#3

Such a simple layout and I have seen it done in so many different ways. A few of us at Craft Group made this cute card with the new Scensational Seasons Stamp Set and Framelits from the new Holiday Catalogue. I think I am going to love the new Chevron Embossing Folder it's such a trendy folder.

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi , Cherry Cobler, Whisper White
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Island Indigo Ruffled ribbon, Chevron embossing folder
Stamp sets: Scensational Seasons Stamp Set , Curly Cute
Punches: Postage Stamp, 1" Square punch

This morning I decided to try the same layout with a more feminine look. I used the Bliss Stamp Set from Sale a Bration and the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set. So soft and sweet. I used the Colour Coach to help me with the colour combination as I was struggling as to what colour to add with the Pink and Green. Thank you Colour Coach I wouldn't have come up with Marina Mist so easily.

Cardstock: Pink Piroette, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla
Ink: Marina Mist
Accessories: Organza ribbon, Manhattan Flower embossing folder
Stamp sets: Bliss, Loving Thoughts
Punches: Postage Stamp, 1" Square punch

Card#2

Another favourite of mine. Once again a coordinating stamp set and a punch. I also wanted to show that monochromatic cards can look very stylish. I was pleasantly suprised at how pretty the Basic Grey turned out. I used the blossom punch and then sponged the petals. The rest of the flowers were cut from the Bo Ho Blossoms punch then sponged and layered on each other.

I stamped randomly over the card using the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set.The sentiment was from the retired Short and Sweet Set. I really miss that lovely set.

Ink: Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey
Accessories:
Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Stamp sets: Mixed Bunch, Short and Sweet (retired)

Now bring it up a notch and add a little colour and some ribbon and embossed layers. This is so pretty it could easily be used as a Wedding card, don't you think?

Well as promised here is the first of my top five from the new 2012 -2013 Catalogue on page 94. I must admit there was not much effort on my part for this one. Completely CASED (Copy and Share Everything) from the catalogue.
The colours used are from the new In Colors. Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals. The stamp set was the Build a Blossom and of course to make it even more simpler I punched it all out with the matching Blossom Petals Builder Punch. I love the way Stampin' Up! coordinates everything.

Paper Angels annual Christmas card workshops

We have received so many enquiries already about this year’s Christmas Card Workshops and are incredibly excited to formally announce that bookings are now officially open.

I will be attending the Wellington Point and Coorparoo venues, and Springwood if required, so you have a choice!
If you click on the above brochure, you will be able to read all the details clearly! Note we have kept the cost at the same price for the past 5 years, being $65 for an entire day (10am till 4pm) of fun, friends and creativity. This is great value! Some venues you will be able to purchase lunch, and because they are generously waiving the room hire fee it is requested that you do not bring your own lunch but eat at the venue.
We have provided an opportunity for you to choose a wood rather than the supplied clear mount stamp, for an extra $7; as well as the opportunity to buy the coordinating ‘Framelits Die Cutting System’ for the included stamp set for an additional $32, rather than the separate price later of $42.95. You do not need to choose either of these options, they are simply there for your convenience/choice.

There will also be the usual Christmas card competition, so get creative if you would like to participate!

We are very grateful to Stampin' Up! Australia for providing us with donations of SU products to raffle at each event, please bring some extra cash for tickets for what will be a fantastic array of products to win! All proceeds from the raffles goes to the Mater Mothers Bereavement Programme and the Mater Volunteers Services.

Payment is required at the time of booking so that your stamp set, papers, sanding system and kit may be ordered.
Please book with me by email or phone 0402441964. Places are limited and some venues will book out quickly, so please do book in promptly to avoid disappointment.

You had me at the cover....

Wow it has been ages since I have found the time to write something. One of the reasons is the new 2012 - 12013 Catalogue. It is so full of things I want/need and projects I will be making as soon as I can decide which one is going to be first. Do I sound excited? Yep I am.

My friend Liz was at a market a while back and was showing the catalogue to an interested customer. As Liz was guiding her through the pages and explaining some of the new goodies, the lady turned around to Liz and said " You had me at the cover!" Basically that is just how I felt.

I love the new punches, and there are so many new embossing folders not to mention all the new stamps, so I have decided to put up some of my favourites each day. So keep an eye out for my top five favourites.

You can check out the catalogue
or

As though checking out one catalogue isn't fun enough. How spoilt are we to have 2 fabulous new catalogues at once? Stampin' Up have decided to bring us in line with the US and Canada. So instead of the usual 4 mini catalogues throughout the year we are only getting 2 per year. The good thing about this is that it gives us more time to buy, this catalogue runs till 31 January 2013 and it is bigger, 40 pages chock full of gorgeous new product that I can't wait to use. I have tried out a few of the products already at our recent Paper Angels Demonstrator meetings, and from my pre-order (just one of the perks of being a demonstrator!) and I just love them. Check out the Festive Cover I am going to have a go at making it so stay tuned.

Some of the favourite things about this catalogue are:

  • Bundles -  I love that Stampin' Up! has bundled matching stamp sets and framelits saving you money (15% off)!  Watch for several bundles throughout the catalogue.
  • Kits -  Several cute kits for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's Day.
  • Suites -  Four new suites to fit everyone's holiday needs.
  • Samples - There are so many wonderful samples to CASE (copy and share everything).
You're just going to fall in love with this catalogue.  If you would like your very own copy to keep by your bedside, then contact me, zenakennedy@lizzy.com.au
