Yuki an Independent Demonstrator from Japan

I have been looking forward to seeing some projects made from our Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Japan, ever since I heard that Stampin' Up! were spreading their wonderful wings even further afield.

Well I have not been disappointed I found Yuki's blogspot and love what she is doing. I also know why I will never give up the Apothecary Art stamp set bundle even though it is now retired.

I love the way she has done the bow on this card and I will definitely be trying this. It just looks so pretty don't you think?

Weekly Deals 29th July - 4th August

The Weekly Deals again have a great range of products. Is there anything there that is a must have for you?

Card made with Heart Punch by zena kennedy independent stampin up demonstrator

Maybe the gorgeous new Shaped Heart Punch or the Neutrals Envelope Paper. Those that have attended my classes will have seen me use the In Colour Envelope Paper which is double sided, plain on one side and patterned on the other, we used them as layers on our cards as well as envelopes.

This thin, text-weight paper makes perfect envelopes: it's stronger than regular paper and less bulky than cardstock.

The Neutrals Envelope Paper comes in 3 colours: Kraft (5 sheets), Whisper White (10 sheets), Very Vanilla (5 sheets)

Happy New Home

It was a strange day today. I am feeling rather sad. My daughter and her husband have moved to Canada and today I spent the day watching the International packers, wrap and pack all their belongings. I watched them load it all into the truck and then turned to look at an empty home, walking from one empty room to another.

I had this overwhelming feeling of sadness, the house was always filled with fun, love and laughter and now it would be someone elses. The new owners move in on Wednesday. I have left them a welcome to their new home card and hope they have as much happiness in it as my family did.

I hope they like it.

Team meeting fun

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator we have monthly Team Meetings, these meetings allow us to talk about new techniques and welcome new demonstrators into our lovely team. We always make at least one card at these meetings and yesterdays was a gorgeous Water Colour one.

We inked our water colour card up with ink and then cut out the large butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits. We then added Bermuda Bay backing and attached the butterfly to it. The Hello was cut out of our Gold Foil using the Hello You Thinlits Die.

We all went dotty...

Our last technique class was all about dots. Often we get dot images in our stamp set and they get left, as nobody knows what to do with them. My aim was to get them out and see what we could do with them. The first was using the Dotty Angles stamp set.

Melon Mambo was stamped on first, then Rich Razzelberry stamped slightly to one side. We then finished it off using another great stamp set called Celebrate Today.

The second card I was going to use Best Day Ever stamp set. I cut up the spots in the set(did I hear a few "oh no's"?)oh yes, I don't have a problem cutting up my stamps, sometimes all I need is a sentiment or an image, so by cutting them up I get the best of both worlds.
The idea I had was to stamp a line of dots then change colour and stamp the rest of the line. Well after thinking about it I realised that it was a good idea for one person but not for a class. So plan B came to fruition. I bought a packet of pencils with rubber tips and used the tips to create the dots.

My Bluecare class also did this technique and one of the residents is wanting to make only Christmas cards, so I adapted the card for him. I quite like how it turned out and so did a few of my friends. They have asked me if we can include that in the Christmas in July class coming up soon.

Finally I pulled out the Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks and we used a dauber with White ink creating white spots over the Crumb Cake card. We cleaned the mask and then laid it back over the dots then moved it slightly to one side. This created a crescent, we used the dauber with Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I really love this technique, what about you?

What type of car was it?

A red one...

A red car post zena kennedy independent stampin up studio

That is always the answer I give if I am asked anything about cars. Yes I know it seems silly that a woman does not know one car from another and the best description they can give is the colour.

So why am I discussing cars instead of crafting? Well a funny thing happened to me the other day that I thought might bring a smile to your faces.  I had been out shopping and was heading back to my car, a man was also walking back to his car and was smoking so I wanted to get away from the smoke. I pressed my remote car key and hurried to the car, threw my bag on the seat. Next minute the man had caught up with me and was asking me what I was doing in his car. I thought he was joking and sat down in the drivers seat, then looked around the car. You can imagine my embarrassment as I slinked out of the drivers seat and apologised explaining that I had a Red car too and that we must have pressed our remote car keys at the same time.

I'm not sure if he saw the funny side of it, but it made me giggle all the way home. I hope this put a smile on your face. Have a lovely day and Happy Crafting!
