A wonderful birthday

I have just had the most wonderful birthday and it just seems to keep getting better and better. It was a big one so I decided that I wanted to do something special. We decided on a 3 day holiday at Kingfisher Bay Resort on Fraser Island.

As soon as we hopped on the barge to Fraser I got my first "happy moment" in the form of a Dugong. Wow what a way to start a holiday. My actual birthday was perfect, a leisurely breakfast, followed by a guided tour of the sand hills and bush.

The ranger left us to our own devices after an hour and we spent another 2 hours exploring the bush and then down on to the beach for a lovely walk along the beach.

Lunch and then a rest before we headed back down to the beach for a guided kayak tour.
I was very pleased with myself, I didn't capsize once.

Then a seafood dinner, "pure indulgence", two tiers of seafood. We could not get through it all.

Such a wonderful day and spent with the most wonderful person in my life, Patrick Kennedy.

You would think that would be the end of my celebrations, but, when I got home, in my letter box, I had two lovely cards waiting for me. Kelly Kent a lovely Stampin' Up! demonstrator who lives in Perth sent me this beautiful card. Thank you so much, Kelly.

Then I open the next one and it is from another fellow Paper Angel,
Bec Ross, such a gorgeous girl who is also  #bringingbirthdaysback

I can't say how thrilled I was to get these on my return home. What a great birthday, don't you think?

Let's get Carried Away

I love being inspired by our Stampin' Up! trainers. In this video, Brandi suggests a class that you might like to try. She suggests you could get together with a few friends or ask me as your demonstrator to put on this class and make up these 12 cards.

This video class also shows how to make a set of 12 cards that go in an adorably decorated tin. It features the occasions catalogue Lift Me Up Stamp Set and the coordinating Sale-A-Bration Carried Away Designer Series Paper and Card Tin. These last two items are free.

I am happy to conduct this class if you wish!!!

Pop up card in a box

I love the card in a box technique, what about you?

I made this one for a display at one of our team days. I popped the balloons up on acetate. Quite happy with how it turned out.

Bokeh class cards

My Bokeh technique class was so much fun. The colours we used made it all look like mist and soft rain. I love how just changing the colours can change the mood of a card, don't you?

Here is what we made...

Keep Bringing Birthdays Back

Our Stampin’ Up! Training Manager, Shannon West, personally sent out over 2,000 birthday cards last year—wow!

My birthday card ambition may not be that grand, but my 2017 birthday list is getting worked on and I want to plan on sending out cards to everyone on it. Sadly I have missed the first few months of this year as I was still gathering my birthday dates. Let's hope I have them all now.

Here is a video of four fun birthday card ideas from the occasions catalogue.

Shannon shows us how to make some gorgeous projects. Maybe you want to order the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp (item 143573). I quite like of stamping it on the back of my cards. It’s available while supplies last so get it before it runs out!

Team day with the Angels

Our Paper Angels is a wonderful group of ladies. We are made up of hobby Stampin' Up! demonstrators, class oriented demonstrators and also demonstrators that want to make Stampin' Up! their little business. What ever the reason we joined Stampin' Up! we have found inspiration along the way with this great team. Many of us went to a team event recently, we met up with some of the ladies that live out of town and created some wonderful projects.

The day was a fun event and one of the things we were asked to do was create a name tag with a nature theme. The idea was to check out peoples tags and pop a mini peg on the one you thought was the best. This was a great way to meet new people and have a chat with some of the ladies that live on the other side of town. This was my name tag. One of my ladies with some dragon flies and a butterfly on her head.

I didn't manage to get photos of all the tags, but here are a few, they are so lovely how could you choose a winner.

And the WINNER is Dayleen. Isn't it just fabulous?

Don't Quit Your Day Dream

The third Colour INKspiration Challenge is a fun beach themed, colour palette. I knew exactly what I wanted to make...

One of my ladies in a bikini at the beach...

I was going to hand draw her and then I took a closer look at the Beautiful You stamp set and thought, mask the hem line, mask the bust line, mast the sleeves and I have myself a ready made body to work with. All I had to do then was sponge her skin and dress her.
I had no problem using the Marina Mist. My little lady has her bikini and hat using the Marina Mist florals from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. I wasn't keen on drawing in her feet (not good with feet and hands haha) so decided that the puddle from the other stamp would work beautifully. So she is up to her ankles in water.

I used our water colour paper to put a wash of Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Soft Suede. I stamped the puddle in Soft Suede from the Beautiful You stamp set, I then cut a slot in the puddle for her legs to go through.

The sentiment was one of the Free stamp sets that we are getting from Sale a bration at the moment. It coordinates with the Custom Tee Photopolymer Stamp Set I love the words, "Don't quit your day dream"

The clouds I hand drew them in Soft Sky, after looking at the shape of the biggest one from Up and Away Thinlits Die . The surf board was hand cut and then stamped in Peekaboo Peach with the Watercolor Words Photopolymer Stamp Set.

I ripped a piece of Marina Mist for the scene to sit on and then decided the scene should also be ripped. What do you think, is she living her Dream?
