3 x 3 Embossed Box

I was asked how to make different types of boxes. Well usually I make all my boxes with the Envelope Punch board, however I wanted a challenge, so set about to make a box to hold our 3x3 envelopes and also another style to hold our Note Cards and envelopes.
This box is made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and can be decorated with layers of card and DSP or possibly a belly band decoration, or embossed as in this one.

Many different decorative ideas. Use Christmas DSP and make them into Christmas card boxes, the measurements for this box accommodates 4 cards and our 3"x3" envelopes

Start with a 9x53/4” piece of card.

On the long side score 31/4”, 41/4”, 71/2”, 81/2”

Turn clockwise to short side and score 1”, 41/4”, 51/4

With the 1score line on the bottom and the 1/2” score line on the right. Cut up each score to the first score line. When you get to the 1/2” score line, cut up to form a V

Turn and working from the right on the long side. Cut up to the second score line, this forms the box closure. Cut along the rest of the 1/2” score line up to the 1/2” score line, cut this up to form a V. You will have formed a tab. Cut up each of the remaining score lines.

Fold on all the score lines, to make a crisp edge and assemble box by adhering the tab to the other edge. With this size you may be able to emboss, before assembling, however any bigger and embossing would not be possible. You will need to decorate another way.

*** All products including adhesives, can be purchased from my online shop.

These are the cards created to go into this cute little box.

Lucky last

I'll stop now. I hope you enjoyed the videos and got some inspiration for your Free stamp sets. Midnight on the 31st March will see the end to these products as free items, BUT, I will still be playing with mine, how about you?

My goal was to show as much as I could from the Occasions Catalogue and base some special classes around the catalogue and the Sale A Bration items. To those that attended my special Occasions classes, I hope you have enjoyed creating and I know some of you have gone home and played. We love the show and tell that is coming back from these classes.

I must try the Ombre technique that Carrie suggests.

Thank you for watching these videos and I do hope they have inspired you. Now the next thing to look forward to is the release of our new Calagolgu in June. Happy last day Sale a Bration

Male Happy Birthday card

A very dear friend of my husbands turned 93 today and so a very special card was called for. He is a Masonic Lodge member so I thought the front could be a reminder of his days with his fellow brethren, then you open it up and hooray...

Ideas a plenty...

I love being a Stampin Up demonstrator. We get so much support from other demonstrators and the ideas for projects is never ending. Each month all the Paper Angels get together and discuss new products, events and exchange card ideas. Two of the cards that I saw and loved have now been reproduced and added to my collection.
Notice how the bottom butterfly has been punched out of the Whisper White. Such a cute idea. The card base was made from the In colour, Summer Starfruit. I then added the layer of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper. I punched out a Summer Starfruit Elegant Butterfly and a Rich Razzleberry Elegant Butterfly. I stamped the sentiment  from the Loving Thoughts  stamp set in Rich Razzleberry. The designer series paper was FREE from the Sale E Bration catalogue.
This one I just love. The dangly stars and hearts are just so cute, don't you think?

70th birthday with Beau Chateau

I was asked to create a 70th birthday card for my friend's mother. Her mother is very English and quite proper. So I needed to create something to suit.
Quite by accident I found exactly what I was looking for in my Beau Chateau paper. I wanted to use the DSP and was wondering what to put with it. I looked at the pretty frame on one of the pages and then my mind went into overdrive.
What if I cut out the frame and stamped some wording in it? No, not quite what I wanted.
What about cutting out a framelit die with the Big Shot and put that on the cut out frame and then stamp? No, still not quite what I wanted.
Well finally I decided to use my Designer Frames Embossing Folder. I stamped the sentiment and then ran the Oval frame through the Big Shot. I cut out the inner part of the oval frame and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake. Then I cut out a Framelit and put it back through the big shot using the Designer Frames. (Gee I love my Big Shot!) Stuck the sponged oval on top and decided that was it. Finally happy with the look.
The three little flowers were made using the old 3 blossom punch and then rolled up and squished to create the faux suede look. Then I popped on the tiny half pearls.
Finally I put it all together, stuck Beau Chateau DSP onto Crumb Cake card, attached Crumb Cake seam binding around this and tied with a bow at the top. Added my frames and then the whole lot was stuck on to Very Vanilla card.
I didn't want to put the 70 on the front, but felt it needed  to go somewhere. So I sponged a piece of Very Vanilla, stamped the Happy and TH and added the 70 which I had cut out from the Big Shot. ( Oh I love my Big Shot)
What do you think? Will her mum like it? I hope she does.

Card details:
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Beau Chateau
Ink: Crumb Cake
Ribbon: Crumb Cake seam binding
Tools: Big Shot, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set, Framelits Dies
Stamp sets: Memorable Moments

Sweet friend

As well as a nice bunch of flowers from my husband for Valentines Day I also got this cute little woven heart from Liz.

She wove these two lovely papers together and popped a yummy chocky inside. It was very clever how she made the ribbon. She snipped down the middle and then ripped it apart. This caused it to fray. Doesn't it look sweet.

A day of silliness

What a crazy, fun day I had yesterday at the Brisbane Bayside Papercraft Group. Thanks ladies for such a silly day. I had huge intentions of doing a pile of Punch Art to put into an example folder. The mood of the day changed all that.

I did however make two lovely cards demonstrated by our lovely Liz.

Today one of them is going to a close friend as a 50th card.
They were made from the FREE products that everyone can get during February & March.
