Cards from the class using Under My Umbrella

Our latest class was all about techniques. I love sharing techniques with my ladies. They get so excited about learning something new. We used the new Under My Umbrella stamp set

We used 3 layers on this card. Crumb Cake for the base, then Bermuda Bay cut ever so slightly bigger than the Whisper White. I just wanted a little peek of Bermuda Bay.  Using the Aqua Painter and Coastal Cabana ink, we washed across the card, then stamped the sweet little rain drops randomly over the wash.. The umbrella was stamped on to a piece of DSP. The flowers and boots were stamped and then coloured with our Blends. We did a couple of layers of flowers to give a 3D look.

This Bermuda Bay card had the oval window cut out and then stamped with the rain drops in Bermuda Bay ink. However the card below is what we actually made.

This is the card we finally made. It's one of my newest dies and I couldn't resist changing this from the Oval to the floral oval from the Petal Labels Die. To create the windows background, we used the Sponge brayer and various colours. These colours were Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Gorgeous Grape. Then with the Aqua Painter we flicked small droplets of water over the sponging. The sentiments were all chopped up and backed with Copper foil.

Who would have thought all these colours would look ok together. Night of Navy as the base with a peek of Pineapple Punch behind this vibrant DSP. The umbrella and boots were stamped with the cute little flowers from this set. Lots of layers in this card.

So which one of these cards grabs you? I think my favourite is number one, or two or maybe three!

Timeless Tulips class cards

Having a coordinating punch for this stamp set makes creating our projects so much easier. I can't decide which of these projects is my favourite.

For this card, we used Blushing Bride card stock as our base. A layer of Blackberry Bliss, layered with DSP Using the Timeless Tulips Stamp set and Blackberry Bliss ink we stamped out our tulips and leaves. Then using the Tulip Builder Punch we punched out the flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from the Well Written Dies. To make the Happy stand out we glued it to a piece of Blackberry Bliss card and then fussy cut around.

I must admit I do like sponging and brayering. We masked our base and then used the Sponge Brayer to lay down several colours. The colours used were Mint MacaronBalmy BlueNight of NavyGorgeous Grape. Finally with the Aqua Painter we flicked drops of water on to the brayering.  I think this may be my favourite, what do you recon?

Fancy folds are always popular and this one is such an easy fold. It is achieved by folding the A5 card as usual and then folding the front again in half. The sentiment is adhered across the fold. the tulips were stamped with Calypso Coral ink and Pear Pizzaz

When the card is opened fully the rest of the sentiment is revealed. Pretty nifty, don't you recon?

The Timeless Tulips bundle is another great bundle that you may want to add to your stash.

Floral Essence class cards

So pretty, these 3 cards. All made using the Floral Essence stamp set. Floral stamps are some of the most popular. Flowers, petals, leaves and stalks, sentiments for weddings, birthdays and loved ones, this stamp set has it all. Also it has a coordinating punch, the Perennial Flower Punch. I love this bundle and I think my ladies enjoyed making these cards.

We used Blushing Bride card stock and ink. We sponged an area on the Whisper White card, stamped the spots from the Perennial Birthday stamp set  in Blushing Bride.  The leaves were stamped in Blushing Bride and one set in Tuxedo Black ink. We then punched them out using the Leaf punch,. The main flower was stamped twice and fussy cut to make two layers.

We used Whisper White and Daffodil Delight for this card. The flowers were placed on a Stitched Shapes Die layer.. The leaves were inked in Pear Pizzazz. The Happy Birthday was fussy cut and popped on with our Mini Glue Dots.

Who would have thought Soft Suede could look so lovely. This is my favourite card of the day. The Whisper White layer was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Everything was stamped in Soft Suede and then fussy cut.

The Floral Essence Bundle includes the Floral Essence Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Perennial Flower Punch.

Valentine for their Valentine

I had a lovely morning this morning helping the men from Birkdale Men's Shed create a Valentines day card for their valentine.

To make the class go smoothly and not so much waiting, there were three card colour choices. Sweet Sugar Plum, Mint Macaron and Peekaboo Peach. There was also 3 different stamp sets used.
The first layer was stamped randomly with coordinating ink colour. This was then attached to the base card.

The ribbon behind the sentiment layer, was actually 2 strips of Mossy Meadow card stock that had been screwed up, rolled around and scrunched, this softened the fibres and amazed the men!

The sentiment of Happy Valentines day was stamped inside the card, some of the men had no partner so they opted for Happy Birthday to give to family or friend.

The front of card sentiment was made up from the Path of Petals dies as the first layer and then the Love sentiment from a very old retired stamp set called You are Loved was stamped and then punched out, this was used for the oval. A little silver and white twine bow finished the card off.

I think there are going to be some very surprised spouses on Valentines day. Are you going to make something special for your Valentine?
