The winner is...

Thank you to all the beautiful entries that we received. It  was very hard to pick a winner, however we have, in fact we have two winners.
When it came down to choosing between these two they could not choose, so luckily Liz Collett had two Paper Pumpkin Kits so she suggested that they both get one.

So here they are...

Mavis Edwards your card was so intricate, with baubles dangling on each layer. Oh my word, so much work.

Jenny Coleman, wow we just love shaker cards and this was so pretty.

We hope you both enjoy your Paper Pumpkin Packs.

For all the others that entered the competition, thank you and I wish we could have given everyone a prize, they were all lovely.

Quota Charity Craft Fair

Another of the events that I and my Paper Angel colleagues attend was the Quota Charity Craft Fair. This time in bigger and better premises. This Fair has been going on for about 12 years now and all monies goes to Aspergers Syndrome and Cleft Pals.

It was a terrible rainy day, so everyone was worried that this might keep people in their homes. Nope they came through the door in droves. We had the stall set up looking very smart

We had make and takes set up and were kept very busy, as well as having special workshops with all monies going to Quota.

Quota's new Brisbane Craft and Gift Fair

For many years the Quota Craft and Gift Fair has been raising funds for Aspergers and Clef Pals charities and I have been a part of this fund raising right from the start. For the last few years I have been on the other side of the fund raising and actually having a stallbeing a stall holder.

Stampin" Up! has always supported this charity and is continuing to do so by having it's usual stall, with a large donation of Stampin" Up! products given to Quota for their raffles.

We will be having demonstrations on our stall throughout the day and of course the usual make and takes. There is nothing better than getting your hands on some stamp, inks and paper!

Both myself and Sarina Cardillo will be taking a workshop away from our stall. All money from these workshops goes directly to Quota's charities. So if you want to rty your hand at making a Christmas Bon Bon with my favourite tool, the Envelope Punch board, make sure you book in early as there are only 6 spots on Saturday and 6 spots on Sunday.

Sarina will be showcasing our newest tool and what a beauty that is. It is the Stamparatus, an innovative stamp placement tool collaboratively developed by Stampin' Up! and a team of Demonstrators from around the world.  This fabulous tool helps anyone get crisp, clean stamped images; plus you can make multiple projects in minutes - with an accuracy and consistency that makes stamping easier than ever before.

If you would like to purchase any of my retired stamps before the Craft Fair I am uploading a list on to my business Facebook page. I will be adding more each day so keep popping back. If you are in Brisbane you can pick up or I can arrange to hold them for pick up at the Craft Fair. If you wish them posted I can check out postage costs and let you know via email or Facebook message.

Quota Craft and Gift Fair

I must apologise this post is a little late in coming, as all the exciting Close outs sales and retiring list had me a little preoccupied. However I did want to tell you about my first foray into being a stall holder at an event instead of being the coordinator of the event.

Each year Quota International of Carindale holds a Craft and Gift Fair to raise funds for Cleft Pals and Asperger Syndrome. I am usually one of the coordinators of this fair, however this year I had to stand down to support my husband as he underwent surgery for Stage 3 melanoma. I am happy to report that all seems to be going well.

Anyway because of this I was free to concentrate on my Stampin' Up! hobby, in between hospital visits. My team grew to 5 and what a lovely group of women they are. Having a team made me feel a little bit responsible for getting them going, so I accepted an invitation to become a Stall Holder at the Quota Craft and Gift Fair. What a strange feeling that was.  From Coordinator to stall holder, I can now see both sides of the coin. It was very exciting, some of my team agreed to come along and sell their hand made products.

Sarina Cardillo and Kerry Kelly two of my team

We set up some lovely displays and demonstrated my favourite tool the Envelope Punch Board.

We had complimentary make and takes.

There was also a lucky door prize to be won.
Packing up for the day was interesting. Look what I can fit in my front seat!

Thank you for reading to the end of this post. This was a very exciting day for me and both of my team members that attended. We met so many lovely people and had lots of laughs, actually I think we may have been the nosiest stall there as we all seemed to be getting excited about something. I just love how crafting brings out the kid in us all.

Thank you to everyone that came and visited our stall, we really appreciate you all!

Quota Craft and Gift Fair

Every year Quota International of Carindale holds a Craft and Gift Fair
This year is going to be even bigger as they have moved to a bigger venue. The new venue is the Carina PCYC. The entire building and the grounds will be used for the Fair.

Inside the main hall...
There will be the usual Craft stalls, where you will be able to purchase handmade goods. There will be something for everyone, jewelry, craft products and kits, sewing materials, wood turned objects and ready made products. A great way to get the Christmas list filled.

Some of the exhibitors will be demonstrating their wares throughout the day at their stands. I for one love standing and watching creativity in action.

Also in the main hall you may be lucky enough to win one of the half hourly door prizes. If they are not claimed don't despair the lucky number gets put up on a board and you can claim it at any time throughout the day.

At the end of the day, you could be the lucky winner of a Sewing Machine. This is our door prize donated by River City Sewing. You must be there at the time of drawing.

On Stage...
11am - A fashion parade will be showing beautiful fashions by Sobidah . As it is coming up for Melbourne Cup you might find something for the big day.

 On Stage Presentations...
10am - In the Presentation area Dr Kathleen Berry will be presenting Fashion Design and Pattern Making in the presentation area. Whatever your body shape or size.  Create garments that make you look good and feel great.

12 noon- Also in the Presentation area you will be able to say hello to me and hear my presentation on Let's Start at the Very Beginning. What ever hobby that you have there are always the starting items that you will need. I will share with you the basics of card making and how to gather a starter kit together.

2pm - The Final presentation for the day in the  Presentation area Dr Kathleen Berry will again be presenting Fashion Design and Pattern Making in the presentation area. Whatever your body shape or size.  Create garments that make you look good and feel great.

Front Room...
For the avid reader we have a Book Fest. Come and peruse the tables and you might just find the book you have been searching for.

Quilt Room...
Quilts will be on display and possibly some will be for sale. There will be a Viewers Choice to vote for the best quilt of the day.

On the Verandah...
Workshops will be running throughout the day. Card making, sewing and jewelry making. The first workshop is at 9.30am and the last of the day is at 315pm. Check out the times on the back of the flyer attached.

Cafe 42...
Is all this making you hungry ? Cafe 42 will be open all day for coffee, cakes and lunch. So take a break, sit and recharge, then head back for more fun.

Outside...
  • Bunnings will be setting up a children's activity area, so bring the kids and let them enjoy some fun time too.
  • Westpac will be on the barbie cooking up some sausages with all monies raised going back to Quota Charities.
  • Emma will be painting faces of children and adults if they want!!
  • Woodturning displays by Graham Weir. I love the smell of fresh turned wood shavings

Talent Quest...
Entry auditions are being held on Sunday 13th September, please see the flyer for detail.

So, do you think there might be something for you? Mark the 11th October in your diary and have a fun day with the family.
