Love my classes - come join me

I love my classes and meeting new people. I love it when something is a WOW and everyone oohs and aahs over a card, product or technique. The last class was just like that a lovely morning with lovely people and one new lady that I'm sure will one day be a crafty friend. Us crafters seem to be like that, sharing and having a great time playing with paper.

These are the cards we made.

Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle zena kennedy independant stampin up demonstrator

This card uses Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle for the flowers and leaves. I used Blusing Bride for the main colour and Pink Pirouette for the small flowers. I used the You've Got This Stamp Set for the background. I didn't want it too dark so stamped off first and then applied the Crumb Cake background. Then I scattered some smaller images over in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake.

The next card also used the Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle, but this time it was the paper that we used. I really love how all of these go together. The card was Cajun Craze. Can you see how I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to hold the card together. I used markers on the Happy Birthday stamp from the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set picking out all the colours that were in the paper. I then tied the tabs with Mossy Meadow 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon (from the Clearance Rack).

I am loving this paper and I'm thinking Hawaiian shirts could be a good card for Fathers day or a surfie dudes birthday.

Lastly we used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch again this time making a tag for the front of the card which we inked up using the Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Stamp. The base of the card was Hello Honey and we ran that through the Brick Wall embossing folder. Everyone chose a different sentiment and then it was attached to the card. The finishing touch was the Cajun Craze flower from the Botanical Blooms and the leaves.

They all looked so beautiful when they were finished. After everyone left I couldn't resist making up another card with the left over pieces.

Clearance Rack items

We all get excited about the Weekly Deals and sometimes forget the Clearance Rack. It has some wonderful items there that are all retiring. If you are wanting ribbon, punches and beautiful paper then take a look at the Clearance Rack.

Talking about beautiful paper who can go past the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, what girl can resist this for $8.78, the original price was $21.95. I'm also thinking it might be a good time to stock up on ribbon, some of them are reduced down from $11.95 to $4.98 Oh and I can definiteely recommend the Starburst Framelits Die. So go take a look and see what bargains you can grab before they are gone.

MAKE JUST ONE MORE

Everyone gives cards. Families who are staying at Ronald McDonald Houses® have occasions for card-giving too. But since their focus is on their children who are receiving medical care, they just might not have the time (or money) to go to the shop and buy a birthday card for nana or a thank-you card for the neighbour who’s collecting their mail and doing the lawns.

This is where you come in: RMHC House families need cards.

You make cards at my classes. So let's make just one extra card to donate to our local House. Maybe a Birthday, thank-you or a thinking of you card as these are always needed, so as well as making your cards in class, I will give you the materials to "make just one more". So come along and help Make a difference in someones life. If you do not attend any of my classes but would still like the opportunity to makes some cards for charity. please contact me and I can arrange a day.

Envelope Punch Board class

My class that I offered for people that had purchased the Envelope Punch Board from me, as well as anyone wanting to see what more it could do was great fun. So many little projects were made and everyone went home with the instructions.

We made some cute tags and of course a box to pop them into.

We made a cute little bag from a sheet of 12x12 Designer Series paper. One of the ladies wanted to know how to make the fuffy flower, while the others made a bow, also from the Envelope Punch Board

Bon Bons are so easy to make with the board and of course they don't have to be for Christmas. They could be just a cute container to hold a piece of jewelry "yes please"

I am a great fan of techniques and last year I did this Rock and Roll technique in my class. I had forgotten how lovely it looks until Stampin' Up! put up this video

I think I may have to have another class on it this year and get others excited about this great little technique.

Let's start at the very beginning - Day 29

My Grandmother and my mother always told me that you could not combine flowers and stripes or any other type of designs that did not match. In fact I remember them saying that about certain colours. Well nana and mum, sorry but I respectfully disagree.

The first card I have used Smokey Slate as the base card and the other I have used Rich Razzleberry for the base.

Let's start at the very beginning - Day 28

I was going to use the flower stamp and punch on both cards but, I had a slight mishap with the bottom one and ended up with ink where it shouldn't be. So instead of a flower I decided to make a couple of little banners to cover the mishap. What is that crafters saying? "There is no such thing as a mistake, it is just an opportunity for creativity" Don't you agree? I think the banners work well and give an entire new look. I really love the DSP designs.

A little late

I know this is a little late as Easter is now behind us but I just wanted to share this way of recycling. As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator we get our goodies sent to us in big brown boxes and to hold everything in place it is packed with reams of brown paper.
I am a bit of a greenie and recycler so can't bear to throw out this paper. I make bags with it, cover my craft table in it and have so many other uses I could write a book about it. Well for Easter I made this cute little nest by shredding the paper and gluing it to a punched out circle. I stamped out a Happy Easter sentiment and punched it out with my Tag punch and adhered it to a tooth pick with Washi Tape. What do you think, cute?

Let's start at the very beginning - Day 25

What do you like the best plain and simple or sponged around the edges. Just a little sponge can change the look of your cards. Which one do you like best?

To get the softer look on the randomly stamped flowers, I have stamped off on to a scrap of paper then back on the card. This gives a softer colour.
