Glass Half Full
Linda Bauwin is a US Stampin' Up! demonstrator and in March 2016, she collaborated with one of Stampin' Up's designers on the creation of the Half Full Stamp set that Stampin' Up! have been featuring. This gorgeous set has a bit more to it than meets the eye. Linda’s beloved husband, Jay, passed away before this stamp set was completed. The year of their wedding, 1975, is included on one of the stamps, as a tribute to his love and support. A beautiful memento we can all appreciate!
On the 2017 incentive trip to Thailand, Linda demonstrated her stamp set and showed a really creative technique where she mixed the Stampin’ Ink Refill with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to create a beautiful glossy look that you can see on the Merry Christmas card above.

Cancelled for a good cause
I'm so sorry to my lovely ladies that come to my card classes. There are no card classes again this week as my studio is still being used as the assembly area for the Carina Christmas Card Workshop. Thankfully the event is on Sunday and I will have my room back. It has been such a busy time as I was helping at many of the events around Brisbane and this means make a mess, clean up, make a mess clean up, repeat!!!
It is now too late to join in at Carina but maybe able to squeeze in at Wellington Point and if you are up on the Sunshine Coast then you are not too late for Cooroy.
Look at some of the displays we had at Pine Rivers and Thornlands.
The raffle prizes were all donated by Stampin' Up! and we are so grateful for all the wonderful goodies they give us each year.

Such a good cause, raising funds for our Footprint Program. This allows us to supply hospitals with cards and all the supplies to make a card or cards as a footprint record.

Shine Bright like a Diamond
One of the best things about many of our stamp sets is their flexibility. Many elements can be used for any season with the right kind of cardstock, Designer Series Paper, or ink colour. This week, our concept artists have used the elegantly adorable Season to Sparkle Stamp Set to create projects for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day–all from the same set!

Bookings for Christmas Card Workshop closing soon
Don't panic, it is only the Bookings for the first two events which will be on the 21st and 22nd October. We need to get the ordering done in time to get them delivered in enough time to prepare all the kits.
So make sure you check the date of the one you want to attend and allow 2 weeks for ordering.
I am so excited! If you have been before you know what fun the day is and know what we are supporting with this event. If you are new it is about raising funds for our Footprint program, we supply hospitals with cards and all the supplies to make a card or cards as a footprint record. Whilst a footprint record may seem like a small gesture, it is a meaningful record that can be shared, as grieving parents come to terms with their loss.
I will be at most venues and look forward to guiding you through our gorgeous projects. The day runs from 10am to 4pm (Thornlands is 9am - 3pm) with a break for lunch which you can purchase in the venues bistro and the afternoon tea will be provided.
If you have any questions at all please contact me. I am taking bookings and payments now, so please book in ASAP to reserve your spot. Bookings will close 2 weeks before each event to ensure enough time to order all the materials.

What can we make with our Glossy White card
I love it when I am asked to come up with some ideas for our products. One of my friends asked if I could have a class on Glossy White Card. Well little did she know it is a favourite of mine as it lends itself to getting very arty farty.
We used Elegant Eggplant and Island Indigo ink refills dropped on to a cotton ball that had a few drops of rubbing alcohol on it. We then pounced this all over the Glossy card and then used a clean cotton ball to dry up the ink. We cut out the merry and mounted this on to Elegant Eggplant and then on to an embossed Island Indigo base. The banner was stamped with an old Christmas stamp in Elegant Eggplant and we punched out the copper foil with the new border punch.
The Merry that we cut out didn't go to waste, it was adhered to a Whisper White embossed base and then the same banner configuration, this time using the Champagne foil, yum, quite like this foil.
Now take heart if you ever make a mistake when producing your beautiful cards, as there is NO mistakes, only an opportunity to be more creative. As I was showing everyone how to cut the Merry, I neglected to cut my own before I adhered it to the Elegant Eggplant mat. No problem, I stamped a Christmas sentiment in Black Momento Ink. the photo isn't great, but it turned out clear although a little wonky, handmade RIGHT!!!

This last card lends itself to masculine projects by using the Crumb Cake and Early Espresso inks. All you need to do is drag Crumb Cake down the Glossy card to cover, then tip the pad on its side and drag down going across the card. Change to the Early Espresso and drag it down as well. If the dark ends up too dark, then drag some more Crumb Cake down, or as one of my ladies did rub with your finger.

3 cards, 3 colours and 1 stamp set
This was last weeks Wednesday morning class, just a tad late. Why was I so late posting this you are asking?
I am getting ready for quite a few events. The first one off the rank is the Quota Craft a Gift Fair. They have been having this event for several years now and all funds raised on the day go to Aspergers Syndrome and Clef Pals. So if you have nothing too important on Sunday 15th October then head over to PCYC Carindale and take a look at what the talented people at this Fair have produced.
Anyway on with the class reveal. Each of these cards was stamped with Powder Pink, Tranquil Tide, and Lemon Lime Twist. All we have done is change the layers to match the biggest and smallest stamp colours. In this, Just for you card, the pink layer matches the largest stamp and the the card base matches the small stamp.
This one the base card is the pink so the smallest stamp is used and the largest stamp matches the Lemon Lime Twist. Pretty, don't you think?
This Christmas card follows the same rule Tranquil Tide card layer matches the largest stamp and Lemon Lime Twist the small one. Such a different use of colours for a Christmas card, but I think it works. What do you recon?
I loved doing this class and everyone was inspired to go search out a stamp set and recreate these 3 cards.
