Studio clean up

Didn't this year fly by? It is now time to relax and spend some special time with family and friends. I made a deal with myself that I could do that once I sorted out my Studio. So I set to work with the determination to clear out my storage room as well as the studio itself.

This was my table  in the Studio before I started. Oh my goodness, what a mess. This is what happens when you have classes and a few workshops with no time in between to put things away.

So the air conditioner went on and the magic started.

Even the display shelf in the Studio got a face lift. All the samples created on my Envelope Punch Board are now proudly displayed. Gee I love that tool!!!!

Then came the store room. I am lucky enough to have a little room off the studio to store my stamps and all the other  items that a crafter "NEEDS" I even have a little display of retired stuff that I keep for inspiration or just because I like it.

I also keep a lot of cards so decided to organise them as well. Yep I did tell you I was determined to make some magic happen.

What is that, you are asking?
Did I paint that lovely man?
No I didn't, but my daughter did. She painted this when she was in high school and as she didn't want it I grabbed it. I love it.

Finally both the studio and the storage area was done, phew. Then I looked outside and decided to tissy the entrance up.

Envelope Punch Board revisited

I am always excited when I pull out this little tool.

Of course playing with my favourite tool got me all inspired again. So I decided to see what happened if I used the same measurements with punching and scoring but use different size paper.

My first one I made using 12x12 paper.

I then went down an inch using 11x11

Then yet again using 10x10

Yet again using 9x9

Lastly using 8x8

Have you an Envelope Punch Board and haven't yet explored the possibilities? Hopefully I have inspired you a wee bit.

Envelope Punch Board class

My class that I offered for people that had purchased the Envelope Punch Board from me, as well as anyone wanting to see what more it could do was great fun. So many little projects were made and everyone went home with the instructions.

We made some cute tags and of course a box to pop them into.

We made a cute little bag from a sheet of 12x12 Designer Series paper. One of the ladies wanted to know how to make the fuffy flower, while the others made a bow, also from the Envelope Punch Board

Bon Bons are so easy to make with the board and of course they don't have to be for Christmas. They could be just a cute container to hold a piece of jewelry "yes please"

Bags are awesome

Our special in-home class featured one of my favourite tools. The Envelope Punch Board. This little cutie was made from the 12x12 inch Neutrals envelope paper. I love this paper for making envelopes for special occasions, it's stronger than regular paper and less bulky than cardstock.

In keeping with the Awesomely Artistic theme which was the Stamp set of the day. We cut a circle using the Circle Framelits and used this as a mask. We sponged Blackberry Bliss (ooooh I love this colour) from the circle and then stamped over randomly the images. The Dragonfly was stamped once more once the mask was removed.

To hold the flap of the bag down the Build a Bow punch was used to make this cute bow. Stamping the bow and also stamping another Dragonfly to cut out. We sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds on the wings.

I just can't help myself every time I get started using my Envelope Punch Board I just can't put it down. So stay tuned you may see some more cute projects.

It is right now I would also again like to "Thank" a very generous Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK that has made my life so easy for me to make all my boxes.  Her name is Joanne James and she has generously allowed people to use her Box Buster calculator. If you have an Envelop Punch Board and want to make a box head on over to the link above and see how easy it is.

Inspired by Awesomely Artistic stamp set

I have been asked to showcase the Awesomely Artistic stamp set at a special in-home class. In the process of coming up with some designs for cards and also incorporating the Envelope Punch Board.
I came up with some lovely Christmas cards that I had produced for my last class. As I said in a previous post, not everyone has a lot of Christmas images. They may have the words but nothing to go with them, so I decided to create Christmas cards out of regular stamp images.

By placing a scrap piece of paper circle as a mask and stamping around the edge you get a wreath.

Pop a Christmas greeting inside, add a bow and there you have a truly lovely card.

These type of cards I have made before, it is the Spotlight technique. Stamp the main image in Basic Black and then choose a colour for the spotlight, I chose Watermelon Wonder for the square spotlight and Real Red for the circle. I mounted the spotlight piece on coordinating card making it just a smidgen bigger.

I decided to show a square spotlight for those people that have not got circle punches. I like the circle spotlight better but if you don't have the tools, you don't have to miss out, just cut out a square. I think it works well, don't you?

All I want for Christmas...

I would like to make everyone's Christmas as special as mine is going to be this year, so I have come up with an idea for all you crafty people.
Who is tired of getting the usual pressies from the family, like body lotion or fancy soap or tins of bikkies? All very nice of course, BUT I know in my house I would rather have a new Stamp Set or a Punch I have had my eye on for a while.

wish list zena kennedy independent stampin up demonsratorHere is what I am thinking. Make a wish list from the Annual Catalogue and the Holiday Catalogue of the things you really, really want. Let your family and friends know that they can make your Christmas really special by choosing a gift from your wish list.
Ask them to contact me to order from your wish list and I will personally gift wrap the item and add a lovely gift card for them to write in.

So get a crafty Christmas present that you actually want this year and I will make it look extra special for you.

Weekly Deals 18th Nov - 24th Nov

The week comes around really fast and now we have another lot of Weekly Deals. Gold is the word. Gold Glimmer Paper, Gold 1/8" Ribbon and sparkly Brights sequins. All these could make some great projects and then there is the two embossing folders, I love the stylish stripes one as it can be used with stamping as well.  Just recently at the Christmas Card Workshops a few of the cards had to be stamped with Ho Ho Ho several times across the card. Some of the ladies decided to use the Stylish stripes folder and then stamp the Ho Ho Ho in between the score lines, it worked a treat.

Along with the Weekly Deals this week, there are still a few days left to purchase some stamp sets for 20% discount. This deal ends on the 20th.

If you would like to order anything from the Weekly Deals or the 20% off stamps you can either do so online or email me and I can order for you.
