Annual Christmas Card Workshops

It has come around to that time of year again where the Paper Angels hold their Annual Christmas Card Workshops. We have received so many enquiries already about this year’s charity events and bookings are now officially open.

I will be attending the Wellington Point, Cooroy venues, and Pine Rivers if required, so you have a choice! You will love all the cards and other projects we will be making this year, I am so excited about them all, I can hardly wait.

We are very grateful to Stampin' Up! Australia for providing us once again with donations of SU products to raffle at each event, so please bring some extra cash for tickets for what will be a fantastic array of products to win! All proceeds from the raffles goes to the Mater Mothers Bereavement Program and other hospital support programs.

**Payment is required at the time of booking so that your kit may be ordered.**

Please book with me by email or phone 0402441964. Places are limited and some venues will book out quickly, so please do book in promptly to avoid disappointment.

Come join us!

During a charity event last weekend put on by The Paper Angels to assist Quota International of Carindale in raising funds for North Queensland Rural Family Support Services, one of the ladies at my table suggested that we should get together and make cards for the North Queensland Rural Family Support Services, as this was possibly another way we could help.
We decided to run with this idea and I have added to my calendar a few days and evenings planned for these events. If you are keen to make some cards, then get in touch with me.

You don't have to be creative, as you will be guided every step of the way.

Charity Card Making Day

Come join the Paper Angels, Independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and Quota International of Carindale to raise funds for the  Disaster Relief Programme in the Philippines.  We are organising two charity events, one on the northside of Brisbane and one on the southside.

There will be two events, 6 April at Pine Rivers Bowls Club (Northside) and 13 April at Carina Leagues Club (Southside) 10am to 4pm.  The cost of this day is $40 and you make 20 cards. I will be attending both events. If you would like to have a fun day contact me by phone or email me.

So busy..

Have you missed me? I have been so busy these last few weeks. Only 4 more days and I can breathe a sigh of relief. WHY?
Quota's annual charity Craft and Gift Fair will be over. This will be eight years of organising a very fun fair.
Here is a little background on how this event came about.
Eight years ago my friend Janette and I had spent a very slow, hot, day trying to sell raffle tickets for our club Quota International of Carindale. By the end of the day we realised that people are so sick of putting their hands in their pockets for charities.
So over a cup of coffee we decided there must be a better way to make money for our charities that appeal to the public. I had just been to a craft fair and suggested we should do something like that. So it was decided that this is what we would try. We booked a room at the Carina Leagues Club and managed to gather together a very talented group of stall holders.
The day went well and we made $500.  So much more fun than selling raffle tickets. All the money went to Aspergers Syndrome and Clef Pals. We decided this would be an annual event, held at the same time each year. Last year was our best ever we raised $4000, so we are looking to top that this year.

Now you may hear Janette and I talk about Quota this and Quota that. Even though everyone has heard of Rotary and Lions nobody seems to know much about Quota.

Here is a little overview of what Quota is all about.

Quota International of Carindale is a service organization whose focus is to assist the Speech and Hearing Impaired and address the needs of Disadvantaged Women and Children. Quota International was one of the first professional women’s organisations founded in the United States. Our club also participates at an international level by financially supporting worthy projects, such as the Quota house for destitute women and children in New Delhi, India. To find out the full story of Quota check out their website.

Check out the workshops we have on offer this Sunday at the Carina Bowls Club.
So if you have nothing to do on Sunday 14 October, come along to the Carina Bowls Club and make a day of it. You will also be supporting two very worthy causes.
