Watercolour class today

What a fun class this was. Very messy and all looked so different. I love water colouring and the cards are very masculine. What do you think? Which is your favourite?

The watercolour paper strips were spritzed with water, we dropped Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie ink onto a sheet of acetate and spritzed it.
Then the paper was laid over the spritzed ink. I love the looks on everyone's faces as they turn over the strip and see the gorgeous designs that emerge.

We placed Washi tape across parts of the strips. We then spritzed the paper with water and using the aqua painter we painted in Cajun Craze, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil delight. The Washi tape was then removed and the uncovered strips were then spritzed and painted.

When the paper was dry the strips were cut up and then laid on to a Cajun Craze piece of card. Starting in the centre and then placing each piece up just a tad. The bubbles were stamped in Cajun Craze.

This one of course is definitely not masculine. However changing the colours to a more masculine shade and using twine instead of a bow would certainly change the design.

So what one is your favourite. I think mine is the strips with bubbles. It reminds me of the Australia outback. What do you recon?

Our masculine cards

We struggle so much with making masculine cards. We have such pretty stamps and bling, that it always so easy to make our cute, gorgeous cards. So last Wednesday's class we boldly went into the male realm. I think what everyone produced was pretty good, bonzer in fact!

This card was created using my favourite tool the Envelope punch board. I got the inspiration from a fellow demonstrator Carol Payne  I decided to emboss the vest rather than add a layer of DSP. The bow tie is from the Holly Berry Builder punch.

I love this card, it is a type of Dutch Fold card but this one just opens up just above the centre. Such a quick and easy card.

I love, love love this card. I got the idea from one of our new stamp sets. However I am not lucky enough to have that stamp, YET!! So I just cut a pocket out of the Dapper Denim sponged the edges and did dot, dash dot dash all around the edge with a Dapper Denim marker. The spanner is from the retired Nailed It stamp set. The sentiment is from the B.Y.O.P. stamp set.

Masculine card class on Wednesday

After such a full on and fiddly class last week, I promised my ladies something a bit simpler. Well these cards are definitely a lot simpler, however they do have some interesting folds, one of them made with my favourite tool, the Envelope Punch Board.

This class is for the men in our lives. Masculine cards are so hard to make as most of us are so used to flowers, hearts and bows. Well we may see a bow, so come along and see for yourself.

Please RSVP so that I can prepare all the kits. Please bring your ‘basic kit’ to class, this includes a paper trimmer, tape runner, double sided foam tape, multipurpose liquid adhesive and scissors,  as well as your Envelope Punch Board if you have one.
