Occasionals Catalogue showcase
In no time at all the Occasionals Catalogue will be gone and so will most of the beautiful products from it. So to make it easy for you and maybe give you some inspiration, I am going to showcase something from it for the next week. Remember that if you do purchase any of these products during Sale a Bration and your order is $90 or more then you qualify for a free product from the Sale a Bration Brochure.
First for the week is the Birthday Bouquet suite featuring the Birthday Blooms stamp set The Birthday Bouquet suite of products are perfect for creating beautiful birthday cards for those you love.
Why use boring paper clips when you can have these instead? These fun bow-shaped paper clips go on anything you want—accent a card, clip a journaling card to a scrapbook page. Or just use it to hold papers together.
Some embellishments add dimension, but these Honeycomb Embellishments add DIMENSION in a big way. They start out flat and open up to a plump half-sphere; just peel and stick. Add them to your projects for the win!

A weekend with friends
When a group of crafty ladies get together you can expect some beautiful projects. So many oohs and aahs. Each of us had the same papers but all of us came up with our own take on it. Here are a few of the gorgeous cards and projects we made.
How cute is this little caravan. It was made with the Curvy Keepsake Die
Our tables were all set up and we had a weekend of playing with paper. The best part was not having to put our things away.
Don't you love the kite?
Look what else a tag can be made into - a sweet bird house
We were very proud of our effort so laid it all out on the table to take photos.
This pretty little moth wanted his photo taken too, so I happily obliged.
Still more cards, the black and white ones are samples that I made for my Blucare classes next week.
This little owl was a great success as a project for everyone.
I had a layer cut with the Hexagon Hive framelit in my bag so decided to do a White on White card. The flowers came from the Botanicals bundle.
Leisha a fellow demonstrator conducted a class and we all made this fabulous card.
Pull the ribbon on the tab and up she slides. Such a clever idea, we all loved it.
She also showed us how to make this cute little bag to house some gift cards. It is so adorable.
Then it opens up to this very easy but clever fold.
So many more cards, it was a great weekend and something that my body must have been needing as I slept in every day till 9am which is unheard of in my household.

Love my classes - come join me
I love my classes and meeting new people. I love it when something is a WOW and everyone oohs and aahs over a card, product or technique. The last class was just like that a lovely morning with lovely people and one new lady that I'm sure will one day be a crafty friend. Us crafters seem to be like that, sharing and having a great time playing with paper.
These are the cards we made.
This card uses Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle for the flowers and leaves. I used Blusing Bride for the main colour and Pink Pirouette for the small flowers. I used the You've Got This Stamp Set for the background. I didn't want it too dark so stamped off first and then applied the Crumb Cake background. Then I scattered some smaller images over in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake.
The next card also used the Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle, but this time it was the paper that we used. I really love how all of these go together. The card was Cajun Craze. Can you see how I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to hold the card together. I used markers on the Happy Birthday stamp from the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set picking out all the colours that were in the paper. I then tied the tabs with Mossy Meadow 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon (from the Clearance Rack).
I am loving this paper and I'm thinking Hawaiian shirts could be a good card for Fathers day or a surfie dudes birthday.
Lastly we used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch again this time making a tag for the front of the card which we inked up using the Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Stamp. The base of the card was Hello Honey and we ran that through the Brick Wall embossing folder. Everyone chose a different sentiment and then it was attached to the card. The finishing touch was the Cajun Craze flower from the Botanical Blooms and the leaves.
They all looked so beautiful when they were finished. After everyone left I couldn't resist making up another card with the left over pieces.

Guess what, my favourite tool the Envelope Punch Board is back on Weekly Deals and as an added bonus it is Sale a Bration, so if your order is $90 you get FREE product. Anyway what are the rest of the Weekly Deals? Well they are pretty good too. The Petite Petals wood mount stamp set, another favourite of mine.
Then there is the Polka Dot embossing folder, don't you just love how embossing a card or layer makes such a difference?
Last but not least we have to framelits the Bear Hugs which is a fun lot of framelits and the Labels and Tags one which would be so handy for gift wrapping as well as cards.
So all I can say about this weeks Weekly Deals is, WOW, if you want any of these great products I am happy to take your order or you can purchase online and it will be sent straight to your door.

Wikipedia states that...
" Resist techniques in art use the incompatibility of two mediums to create layered effects with colour and texture..."
In my Technique class we used embossing resist and wax resist. The wax resist gives a delicate look that I love. We ran a piece of wax paper through an embossing folder and then placed it on a glossy card. We place this between some scrap paper and ironed it, to melt the wax on to the card. Then sponged the waxed image with ink. Finally rubbing off the excess ink with a tissue.
These samples show the difference in using Gloss card and Whisper White. The blue one is using Whisper White and the orange one is Gloss card.
This grungy card is created using my favourite stamp set Gorgeous Grunge clear embossed. We then sponged over the card in Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar, rubbing off the excess with a tissue. We then ran it through the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The inspiration for this card came from a very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Teneale Williams. Back in 2015 as a Free product we had a Specialty Designer Series Paper called Irresistibly Yours it was a white paper with glossy images on it. One of the images was scattered stars.
I used the Stars mask out of the Heart & Stars Decorative Masks and stamped over it with Versamark and then Clear Embossed to replicate the Irresistibly Yours paper. We both used Hello You Thinlits Dies. I decided I wanted it raised so instead of trying to pop it up with dimensionals. I adhered two pieces of card stock together and cut the Hello out, it gave it that extra thickness. I gave everyone a few colour options, Bermuda Bay, wow, Pink Pirouette, sweet, Melon Mambo, fun and Crushed Curry, warm.
So except for these little changes everything else was CASE'd (Copy and Share Everything) from Teneale. She is such an inspiration.
