Ombre technique class cards

This weeks technique class was the Ombre Technique. I really love this technique and can see so much potential in it. Here are the cards we made. Of course as usual we got a bit carried away so everyone decided to do different colours and punches. Unfortunately I didn't get to take photos of all the lovely creations.

 

This looked lovely in the pinks and purples as well. We used the paint daubers and masked with scrap paper all the way down. Very arty, love it.

These 2 cards were only some of the punches and stamps we used.

 

 

The butterfly was very popular and I loved the green tones that one of the girls used. It turned out so pretty.

This tag used the white glossy card that we no longer have. (Sad) We sponged 3 different colours down the tag. Then embossed, then sponged over the tag again. Looked stunning. Got lots of oohs and aahs.

This last one used strips of water colour paper and then each strip was coloured using the Aqua painters filled with the ink refill colour.

Hey Hombre'!! - May class

Who remembers that movie? Well we are not heading into the Mexican Desert but if you would like to head over to my studio I will show you the Ombre' technique in my May class.

What does the word Ombre' mean?

It seems to be, that it refers to something that is monochromatic but has a graduated variation in the saturation of the colour.

In my researching of what is Ombre' I found that Ombre' Hair colouring was very popular. How cool! Then there is clothing.

Well enough rambling, sorry, I just find this technique so interesting! Here are the details of my Ombre' technique classes, and a little tempter.

 

Ombre class $10

• Wednesday morning 7th May 10am 
• Wednesday evening 7th May 7 pm 
• Friday evening 9th May 7pm

All you need to bring is the usual adhesives and dimensionals.

June classes now revealed

Now that the excitement of Convention is behind me, I am finally able to reveal the class you shall be doing in June. Drum roll please.....
It is the One Sheet Wonder. For those that are not familiar with this technique, it is a page that you create yourself by stamping randomly on card. Then the fun bit is cutting it up as backgrounds for your cards.
In this class you will complete 8 cards. It is a great way to get a stash of cards quickly.

April classes

Another month just flew by, oh my goodness Christmas will be here before we know it, yikes. I hope you all had a nice few days with family for Easter. I ate far too much chocolate and enjoyed every mouthful.
I thought I'd post the dates of classes for the next 3 months so you can update your calendars. I have some interesting projects planned for us and the children's classes.

The April class will be showcasing the Masking and Reverse Masking technique and a Mother's day card. You will also be sponging and I will introduce you to the "Sponge Dauber".  I am really looking forward to using the beautiful Swallowtail stamp for one of the cards.
