My first workshop

Today is going to be my first workshop and I am very excited about sharing all the lovely Stampin Up products with my friends.

My little craft room has been transformed into a great class room for the event.

I made a wall hanging on the back wall to display some of the cards to inspire everyone.

Here is a sneak peek of the make and take.

I am so excited I can't wait for everyone to arrive.

Sweet friend

As well as a nice bunch of flowers from my husband for Valentines Day I also got this cute little woven heart from Liz.

She wove these two lovely papers together and popped a yummy chocky inside. It was very clever how she made the ribbon. She snipped down the middle and then ripped it apart. This caused it to fray. Doesn't it look sweet.

A day of silliness

What a crazy, fun day I had yesterday at the Brisbane Bayside Papercraft Group. Thanks ladies for such a silly day. I had huge intentions of doing a pile of Punch Art to put into an example folder. The mood of the day changed all that.

I did however make two lovely cards demonstrated by our lovely Liz.

Today one of them is going to a close friend as a 50th card.
They were made from the FREE products that everyone can get during February & March.

A taste of things to come

I love punch art and for a craft fair recently I created these little gift cards to teach in our workshops.
The bat and ball was made from the word window punch and a circle punch.
The VW I must give my lovely husband credit for this. It was made from 2 oval punches and parts of the Owl punch. Yep the Owl punch.
The hat was made from the oval and a circle punch.
Last but not least was the little ballet dress. It was made from an oval and circle punch and a flower.

I love them all and everyone had so much fun doing them. Stay posted for the instructions.

Love from China

My wonderful cousin Penny who lives in China is back for a holiday. She always brings me some lovely goodies and this time she excelled herself.

I am now the owner of some beautiful fabrics. Penny wanted to buy 6inch strips so that I could use them for my crafting and cards. Nobody would help her out but one shop decided to sell her 1/2 metre of each with the promise that I would make something to show what I do.

I decided on a scrapbook page as I thought it could be framed. I traced this cute girl out of a magazine and then found some thank you text on the net. I copied the text several times into a Word document, changed the font, then printed it out. I then rubbed over the page using my paint dauber and Crumb Cake ink. Cut out my girl and then dressed her in the fabrics.
The flowers I cut from the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die on my wonderful Big Shot. The leaves I punched  from the Bird Builder punch and then glued them following the curve of the design.

The background paper is from retired card stock Le Jardin which used to be one of my favourites. Yes I know what your thinking, "every thing seems to be a favourite."

I cut a semi circle of the blue fabric and pleated it like the girls skirt and embellished it with a flower.

You may not be able to see the birds from the Carte Postale stamp set as I wanted them to look like a watermark across the page. I stamped them with bashful blue ink.

Also stamped a possum very lightly on a branch. (had to have something Australian.)
I had fun doing this girl so might try a few more, so stay posted.

Australia Day

Did everyone have a great Australia Day break.  We did and started the day with a yummy Aussie breakfast from our favourite Coffee Shop Cafe' Mila. They have the nicest coffee and their homemade cakes and goodies  are making my mouth water just thinking about them.

I decided to create a scrapbook page for the owners, so I took home their menu, scanned and reduced it. I tucked it in a pocket that was created on the Big Shot. It is one of the 'Lots of Tags Sizzlets'. Unfortunately the photos I took didn't happen as I had my camera on video DUH. Hopefully they have some they can add.

The background papers are from the Patterns Designer Series Stack. I ripped the top layer and then put it together with eyelets and ribbon after I had distressed it a little. The Cafe' Mila text is the Simple Letters Alphabet. The other text was an alphabet Sizzlets I have had for some time. I rolled the So Swirly (now retired) Jumbo Stampin Around Wheel using Not Quite Navy ink.

I can't wait to give it to them. Looks like I'll have to have a coffee and cake. Mmmm what shall it be Lemon Meringue, or one of their new cakes.
