For many years the Quota Craft and Gift Fair has been raising funds for Aspergers and Clef Pals charities and I have been a part of this fund raising right from the start. For the last few years I have been on the other side of the fund raising and actually having a stallbeing a stall holder.
Stampin" Up! has always supported this charity and is continuing to do so by having it's usual stall, with a large donation of Stampin" Up! products given to Quota for their raffles.
We will be having demonstrations on our stall throughout the day and of course the usual make and takes. There is nothing better than getting your hands on some stamp, inks and paper!
Both myself and Sarina Cardillo will be taking a workshop away from our stall. All money from these workshops goes directly to Quota's charities. So if you want to rty your hand at making a Christmas Bon Bon with my favourite tool, the Envelope Punch board, make sure you book in early as there are only 6 spots on Saturday and 6 spots on Sunday.
Sarina will be showcasing our newest tool and what a beauty that is. It is the Stamparatus, an innovative stamp placement tool collaboratively developed by Stampin' Up! and a team of Demonstrators from around the world. This fabulous tool helps anyone get crisp, clean stamped images; plus you can make multiple projects in minutes - with an accuracy and consistency that makes stamping easier than ever before.
If you would like to purchase any of my retired stamps before the Craft Fair I am uploading a list on to my business Facebook page. I will be adding more each day so keep popping back. If you are in Brisbane you can pick up or I can arrange to hold them for pick up at the Craft Fair. If you wish them posted I can check out postage costs and let you know via email or Facebook message.

One Million Stars
This is not about stamps, ink and paper, but I had the privilege of making some of these stars with my Quota Carindale friends.
Museum of Brisbane will present the One Million Stars installation as part of Festival 2018 during GC2018 in King George Square Brisbane.
One Million Stars to End Violence is a global weaving project created by a local artist and weaver Maryann Talia Pau that has encouraged individuals, groups, and communities to weave stars to inspire light, hope and peace in the world.
Commencing in 2016 Maryann Talia Pau collaborated with the Queensland Government to engage individuals, groups, and communities across the Commonwealth and the world to weave one million stars for an installation. Stars have been received from star weavers across 15 countries including Nigeria, USA, Canada, Kenya, Fiji, Barbados, Tonga, Japan, New Zealand, Malaysia, Samoa, Scotland, England, Cook Island and Australia.
The weaving project will culminate in a large scale immersive installation of one million woven stars in King George Square from March 29 to 15 April 2018

Come join us!
During a charity event last weekend put on by The Paper Angels to assist Quota International of Carindale in raising funds for North Queensland Rural Family Support Services, one of the ladies at my table suggested that we should get together and make cards for the North Queensland Rural Family Support Services, as this was possibly another way we could help.
We decided to run with this idea and I have added to my calendar a few days and evenings planned for these events. If you are keen to make some cards, then get in touch with me.
You don't have to be creative, as you will be guided every step of the way.

| Some of the cards you will make |
Quota International of Carindale is a club that we as Stampin' Up! demonstrators are happy to support. Each year they have a Craft and Gift Fair that we have been attending for over 10 years and during those years we have also combined with them to raise monies for various charities.
Well today I am inviting you to attend another of their fundraisers. On Monday 2nd May (Public Holiday) we will be holding a Charity Cardmaking Day, to support North Queensland Rural Family Support Services.
Each person attending will make 27 cards, be provided with lunch and afternoon tea and take home extra craft supplies left over from the kit you will be supplied. The cost of this day is $60, I think this is great value for a day full of creativity and getting together with friends.
Print out the flyer below and invite your friends. We will need RSVP's and payment by 22nd April to allow us time to order in all the kits. Email me for further details.

Quota Craft and Gift Fair
Every year Quota International of Carindale holds a Craft and Gift Fair
This year is going to be even bigger as they have moved to a bigger venue. The new venue is the Carina PCYC. The entire building and the grounds will be used for the Fair.
Inside the main hall...
There will be the usual Craft stalls, where you will be able to purchase handmade goods. There will be something for everyone, jewelry, craft products and kits, sewing materials, wood turned objects and ready made products. A great way to get the Christmas list filled.
Some of the exhibitors will be demonstrating their wares throughout the day at their stands. I for one love standing and watching creativity in action.
Also in the main hall you may be lucky enough to win one of the half hourly door prizes. If they are not claimed don't despair the lucky number gets put up on a board and you can claim it at any time throughout the day.
At the end of the day, you could be the lucky winner of a Sewing Machine. This is our door prize donated by River City Sewing. You must be there at the time of drawing.
On Stage...
11am - A fashion parade will be showing beautiful fashions by Sobidah . As it is coming up for Melbourne Cup you might find something for the big day.
On Stage Presentations...
10am - In the Presentation area Dr Kathleen Berry will be presenting Fashion Design and Pattern Making in the presentation area. Whatever your body shape or size. Create garments that make you look good and feel great.
12 noon- Also in the Presentation area you will be able to say hello to me and hear my presentation on Let's Start at the Very Beginning. What ever hobby that you have there are always the starting items that you will need. I will share with you the basics of card making and how to gather a starter kit together.
2pm - The Final presentation for the day in the Presentation area Dr Kathleen Berry will again be presenting Fashion Design and Pattern Making in the presentation area. Whatever your body shape or size. Create garments that make you look good and feel great.

Here is a little overview of what Quota is all about.
Quota International of Carindale is a service organization whose focus is to assist the Speech and Hearing Impaired and address the needs of Disadvantaged Women and Children. Quota International was one of the first professional women’s organisations founded in the United States. Our club also participates at an international level by financially supporting worthy projects, such as the Quota house for destitute women and children in New Delhi, India. To find out the full story of Quota check out their website.
So if you have nothing to do on Sunday 14 October, come along to the Carina Bowls Club and make a day of it. You will also be supporting two very worthy causes.
