ARE YOU IN?

The next stop on our colour caravan is the 2018–20 In Colors! They are Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch, these colours are a bouquet of hues that lend well to any project.

With so many new colours in our collections, it might be a little overwhelming to become familiar with each one. I have downloaded the colour coach resources that Stampin' Up! give to us and will be punching some swatches of the cardstock colours out as a quick guide to all the colours.

More than just scraps

What do you do with your card scraps? That is what I was asked and get asked quite often. It is amazing what can be done with card and beautiful paper scraps.

Then look what we can do with our coloured card strips.

Some of the ladies decided to use all the neutrals. I really love what they have done with them.

Then colours that make a statement. So many different colour combinations, the ladies enjoyed the class and went home inspired and ready to use up some of their scraps

The last few classes

Life has been a bit hectic lately and even though the regular card classes have been going on I have not had time to show any of our creations. So hopefully today you can see what we have been up to and I should now be back on track to post each week on our classes.

We did one on borders. Sometimes a border can be created just using a mask and sponging around the edge.

Then of course is the Mitred border that everyone thinks is so hard when really it is easy peasy.

A border can also be placed just on one side. Love this Harvest stamp set, it creates quite a lovely side border.

Mini Embroidery Hoops from an Artisans perspective

My friend is a quilter and she uses Embroidery Hoops to create her wonderful quilts. Little did I realise that I would be seeing an Embroidery Hoop on a card and looking very classy.

One of my card class ladies had just purchased a set for one of her friends who is into scrapbooking. I have asked her to send me a photo of her creations when she has finished. In the meantime I have found one of our Artisans Kim McGilliss from Canada has come up with a fabulous card with lots of layers and using a Mini Embroidery Hoop.

Another inspiring Artisan

Language is no barrier when it comes to creativity. Jessica Winter is another of our Stampin' Up! Artisans and I love what she has done with one of my go to stamp sets, that is thankfully not retiring.

Jessica is a demonstrator from a small village of Leonstein, Austria and she has created just the perfect card using the Sweet Cake Soiree bundle. What do you think of this gorgeous creation, I love it.

Some of our Artisans

Stampin' Up! each year introduce a new Artisan Design Team. They are talented demonstrators from all over the world. I love following their projects as this amazing group has lots of inspiring ideas, projects, and techniques to share!

One of my favourites this year is just over the "ditch" from us in New Zealand. Susan Wong is so creative and I just adore this little cutie. The stamp set our little Kanga is from is Animal Outing and will be in the new catalogue coming out on 1st June. I will definitely be getting this set.

OH SO SUBTLE

There’s nothing subtle about how gorgeous the Subtles collection is!
Sometimes a loud and bright card is just what the occasion calls for, but when you want something understated in its beauty and elegance, the Subtles collection gives you the exact colours you need. These new colours will be available on 1st June, the new purple is called Highland Heather, it's very yummy!!
I can't wait...!!

Maddy is 2

My great niece has turned 2. This means a new picture for her frame.

We wanted to start a tradition so last year for her 1st birthday I created this frame for her.

This birthday I have made her another. So last years will go into her photo album along with her birthday pics and this one will go into the frame. I hope over the years she will enjoy this little tradition from her great aunty and uncle.

Retiring Colours and a Colour Revamp

THE COLOURS ARE EVOLVING

The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of colour. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on colour trends across different markets and industries. When they see changes happening, they review their colour spectrum to ensure that they remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings us to the 2018 Colour Revamp!

In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colours, Stampin' Up! decided it was time to give our colour collections a makeover.

With this revamp, you’ll not only have new products to excite you, but also have a new variety of shades that will inspire creativity and allow you to explore more sides of your crafting.

Read on for more information!

THE DETAILS

There are still four colour collections, each with ten colours. There is also a new colour group called Basics.

In order to keep the colour collections to exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours, they moved Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White out of the Neutrals collection. They’ve also moved a few colours into the Neutrals collection, making it more exciting and colourful!

Some additional colours have changed collections as well—you’ll notice this as you look through the new collections below. For example, Poppy Parade is now the brightest red so it is part of the Brights collection.
