A selection of cards

We have had some lovely classes lately, although we missed some of our dear friends that haven't been able to make it for a while. Hopefully they will be back with us soon. These are some of the cards we have been making over the last few weeks.

More than just scraps

What do you do with your card scraps? That is what I was asked and get asked quite often. It is amazing what can be done with card and beautiful paper scraps.

Then look what we can do with our coloured card strips.

 Some of the ladies decided to use all the neutrals. I really love what they have done with them.

Then colours that make a statement. So many different colour combinations, the ladies enjoyed the class and went home inspired and ready to use up some of their scraps

Quilting on a card using your scraps

We have done a class on using up our scraps before, however it is always good to go back and revisit as the scraps just keep coming.

I first saw the design of this card made by my colleague Leisha Ward and kept it in the memory bank for just such an occasion.

This card has scraps of designer series paper from many different themes and yet it does not matter one iota, it all just looks like a fun card. The petals were punched from the retired Blossom Petals builder punch.

This card we used half inch strips of Designer Series paper in a herringbone fashion. I think the best tip I can give you, is to start with the longest piece running across the centre of the paper and then work out at right angles from there. We used the circle framelit out of the Stitched Shapes Framelits, such a handy set. Stamped the sentiment from Watercolour Words stamp set. The base card was Sahara Sand and the small layer was Basic black.

 This was a card I made when I first became a stampin' Up demonstrator 5 years ago. I first did it at a workshop and it was created by Elizabeth Collett. I've been wanting to redo this card for a long time now. I'm so pleased I finally made my wish come true. Can you see something new on this card? It's the new Lemon Lime Twist In Color card stock. Wednesday morning class

I am a tad late getting tomorrows class details out. My dear husband has the flu and seems to need water and wheat packs, so my schedule has been a bit hit and miss.

Tomorrow we will be making 3 cards using scraps of DSP and using them as though we were designing a quilt.

If you would like to attend this class and make these 3 gorgeous cards, please let me know as I need to prepare the kits.

Please RSVP so that I can prepare all the kits. Please bring your ‘basic kit’ to each class. This includes a paper trimmer, tape runner, double sided foam tape, multipurpose liquid adhesive and scissors.

 * If you are a beginner and do not have a kit, there will be kits available for sale.
