A special card for a sister turning 50

At my shaker card class today I was asked if I had anything in my goodies box to add a 50 to one of the cards we were doing as they wanted a special card for a sister turning 50.
Um let me see... I rummaged through Thinlits looking for birthday greetings, nothing jumped out at me. Then I found the Big Shot Framelits Large Numbers and the brain starts working. What about we cut out the 50 in a circle and then add the lace from the Big Shot Thinlits Bloomin' Heart behind it. Yes that could work, so away we went. The rest of the card was put together the same as everyone elses but the 50 made this extra special for her sister.

Not bad for throwing something together during a class, phew. Thanks Michelle for keeping me on my toes.

Gift card pack

Wondering what to give the teacher or maybe a friend. Why not make up a few gift cards with matching envelopes and pop them in a beautiful decorated box.

I wanted to use my new Sleigh Ride Edgelits with the Silver Foil paper and I needed just a little something in the background. What better than silver embossed splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I made the envelopes with my trusty Envelope Punch Board using the Smokey Slate paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. What a great stack this is and it seems to have this lovely sheen on the papers which makes the Soft Suede look golden and the Smokey Slate silvery.

 

I then made this box again using the Envelope Punch Board and a sheet of Smokey Slate Neutrals stack. Instead of making it into a closed box I decided to tuck the flaps in and flip the front one over revealing the other side of the paper.
