A BOUQUET OF PETALS

There is something graceful and beautiful about the petals of a flower. And if you look closely, it is the petals that make each flower unique and gorgeous in their own way. You’ll love the grace, beauty, and unique look that comes with the Pressed Petals Suite!
Did you know that Stampin' Up! used photographs of real pressed petals to create the suite’s designer series paper? Even the texture of the paper is lightweight to give you the feel of a delicate flower petal.
There are so many unique aspects to the products in this suite; you’ll love every single bit of it!

When buying this suite, you get the gorgeous coordination of stamps, ink, and paper, as well as the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder (with text from real love poems), washi tape made with beautiful adhesive petals you could use as accents or to create an entire flower.
A unique aspect of this suite is the Pressed Petals Journal, which is loaded with timeless citations about gratitude and encouragement. Try decorating the journal to your heart’s desire with everything in this gorgeous suite, just as Stampin' Up! did in the sample above!
This suite gives you so many beautiful things to work with, your creativity will thank you for it later.

I'm very excited about the Washi Tape. I can't wait to make something beautiful out of these petals.

Our Three Occasions class

The Wonderful Moments is such a great stamp set. It not only caters for birthdays, but weddings and births. Imagine a bridal shower with the gorgeous bridal image, or a festive special 21st birthday celebration. I can see the pregnant mummy as a baby shower or maybe you don't want o see her tummy but love the image, why not cover her tummy up with a beautiful bunch of flowers. Such a versatile stamp set.

This is what we made in our classes...

This lovely bride was embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and layered on to our gorgeous Copper Foil Sheets. The sentiment on this card was used on the outside even though it is one that should be for the inside.

Wonderful Moments bride

This lovely mummy was embosseed with our Black Embossing Powder and then sponged over in Calypso Coral. She was layered on a piece of Calypso Coral. Thinking outside the square, you could use this as a Baby shower card and match the colour with the theme. Once again the inside sentiment was used on the outside.

Wonderful Moments stamps set class

Finally this birthday card was also embossed with Black Embossing Powder and this time sponged over in Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana. It sat on a layer of Coastal Cabana.

Happy Birthday Wonderful Moments stamps set

I loved these three cards and I think all the class did too. There were a few variations on the birthday card as not everyone likes sequins. So we used a few different punches of flowers and leaves and added some Coastal Cabana embellishments. I think this is such a great stamp set and so versatile.

I am naughty

WHY!

I have just been reminded that I have not posted anything about our Wednesday and Friday classes. All I can say is that I have been having so much fun in my studio since I came home, I just got carried away with stamps, ink and paper.

We will be looking at what you can do with a couple of inches of left over Whisper White card stock We always seem to have little bits that we keep and they sit there calling for us to play with them. So hopefully I can give you some ideas about what to do with a little bit of Whisper White.

The Stamparatus class was so good

The new Stamparatus was very well received at both classes. It makes restamping and positioning so much easier.

The first card we placed the stamp on the diagonal, stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and then moved down a notch, restamped again then moved down a notch. By inking and moving down a notch we ended up with a nice diagonal decoration on the Whisper White layer. Even the Thanks banner was stamped using the Stamparatus. It certainly makes it easy to keep things straight.

The card was put together with a layer of Black behind the stamped layer, leaves from the Botanical Builder Framelits were cut out in Shaded Spruce. Behind the banner we frayed Calypso Coral ribbon and adhered the fringing to the back of the banner, then tied the left over threads into a bow and popped it on a piece of Calypso card. This was then slid in behind the banner.

Stamping using the Stamparatus

This Christmas card was made simple by pre cutting all the deer with the Dashing Deer thinlit die.

Dashing Deer card using the Stamparatus Why did I do this?

The secret of making a stack of these cards is, to place a piece of card stock on to the Stamparatus, now place the stamp on the card, press down the plate so that the stamp sticks to the plate, ink the stamp and then press down and stamp the deer.
Then by using the matching thinlit die, run through the Big Shot. You will end up with a template to place all the cut out deer into. (I keep this template in the stamp set for next time)

Each person popped their cut out deer into this template and then inked the stamp that was still on the Stamparatus, then stamped the deer using Smokey Slate. So quick and easy if you are making a few.

The last card we used the dolly peg out of the Crafting Forever stamp set and the sentiment from Myths and Magic stamp set. Once again the Stamparatus was used to line up the image and stamp then move along a notch and stamp again, then changing to Bermuda Bay for the middle image.

Wednesday and Friday classes begin again

It has been a while and I have missed all my classes and the friends that come along to each of the sessions. It will be so nice to see all the smiling faces again and also some new ones.

For those tuning in for the first time, I have been catching up with family in Canada and it has been a wonderful time exploring the tracks of Vernon and swimming in the lakes. I've also managed to spend some time with a Stampin' Up! demonstrator who welcomed me into her home. It has been hard getting back into the swing of things after this big 6 week break, however I am excited about this upcoming class as it is using our new tool the Stamparatus.

Morning tea instead of a class this Wednesday

I am back from my holiday and what a great time it was. I haven't had time to organise my Wednesday morning class yet, but I am missing all my lovely ladies. So Wednesday morning will be a special morning tea, possibly a make and take, just to get our crafty mojo going.

If you would like to come along and listen to some of my stories and check out the new Holiday Catalogue (yes I got a box of them on Friday, yay!), then I would love to see you at the usual time and place.

When:
Wednesday 29th August 10am

Last class till I get back

Our last class before I headed overseas was all about going over techniques that we had done over the year. It also showed how you can make one design work quite differently just by changing the background.

The is  the Emboss resist background. Stamp and emboss first, then sponge over the embossing. We used Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron and Old Olive

This background is created by Smooshing.  We popped 3 colours on to an acrylic block and then spritzed with water.  Then we smooshed the card over the block. I love this technique, never have two cards the same.

This technique was created using our blends. Draw lines across the card diagonally one way and then the other to form a checkered look. Then with the pen tip end draw a contrasting coloured line across the card. So simple.

Now I am planning classes for when I get home. I have a few in my head and looking forward to getting my hands on my supplies when I get home.

Last Weeks class

I just got reminded that I did not post last weeks cards that we created in our Wednesday and Friday classes. Sorry for those that have been hanging out for them. I got a little distracted with family things and I must say exciting things. We have been planning a trip to Canada and dates have now been set, yay!!

So here are the cards that I neglected to show you. The first one we embossed and then used an Aqua painter to colour a few of the raised petals. the Swirly embellishment was trimmed and we will use it on another card.

Stamping as a background on the base card makes a very easy background don't you think?

I know this is a very old stamp set, but I still love it and felt it deserved to be played with.

I don't think I showed the cards we made for the previous class either, oops. Here they are.

Wednesday Morning and Friday evening classes

It's time for another class or two. I am excited about the cards we will be making on Wednesday and also Friday. Last week we made the usual 3 cards and the card below used  swirly embellishment. It needed to be trimmed,  so to show what you can do with the trimmed bit , I have created a simple but pretty card for this upcoming class.

Would you like to come along on Wednesday or Friday and make these 3 cards?
