Google is doing some checks

Morning tea instead of a class this Wednesday

I am back from my holiday and what a great time it was. I haven't had time to organise my Wednesday morning class yet, but I am missing all my lovely ladies. So Wednesday morning will be a special morning tea, possibly a make and take, just to get our crafty mojo going.

If you would like to come along and listen to some of my stories and check out the new Holiday Catalogue (yes I got a box of them on Friday, yay!), then I would love to see you at the usual time and place.

Please bring your ‘basic kit’ which includes a tape runner, double sided foam tape, multipurpose liquid adhesive and scissors, just in case we get our crafting on.

Crafting anywhere

When you are a long way from home and that means a long way from all your crafting gear, then sometimes a crafty strategy is needed.

I did bring a small kit with me from Australia but need more to keep me going. So I found a lovely Canadian demonstrator Heather Hopson and ordered an All Inclusive kit from her. It is the Notes of Kindness Card Kit

As well as ordering this kit from Heather, I got to meet her in person and spend a lovely evening with her and a friend. I love how we can share our ideas, time and love of Stampin' Up! with other demonstrators all over the world.

Look at the lovely cards this kit makes and I still have the ink, stamp set and acrylic block to make more if I want.

These last two I changed the sentiment, using the Thank You sticker from the kit, instead of stamping the sentiment.

A PERFECT PROMENADE

I am not going to be around for our Holiday Catalogue launch as I am still enjoying my time with family in Canada. However I thought I would still share a few things from the catalogue that will be coming in September.

Missing our chats

I am having a wonderful time in Canada, meeting a fellow demonstrator Heather Hopson and spending time with my family. However I am missing the chats from some of my friends. I have not bothered to get a SIM card and so I am not able to take any calls from Australia unless via Messenger. so if you are on Facebook and use Messenger, I would be happy to chat. We are really enjoying the wild life and the flora and fauna over here. Instead of kangaroos and gum trees we are seeing deers and beautiful wild flowers everywhere.

GLORIOUSLY GRUNGE

Anyone that knows me knows how I loved the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set that is now retired. I think there was a time when nearly every card I made had Gorgeous Grunge on it somewhere.

These are some of the projects I made over the years.

Well I have not parted with the stamp set but can see that other stamp sets can do a lovely job as well. The Gallery Grunge Stamp Set is full of unique texture. Apparently the designer of this set of background stamps found inspiration at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Boston when she noticed a herringbone pattern on the walls.
These versatile patterns can be used in two completely different ways. Beyond just background stamping, they can be used to create layers of texture in any piece.

In the thank you card sample,  all three of the stamps in different colours were used to create an elegant yet edgy aesthetic.

In the butterfly sample, the polka dot stamp was used on both the butterfly and the background to create a delicate symmetry.
