First we needed a bit of sunshine and a reminder of summer. The Watercolour Words was perfect for that. Not only the Just for You sentiment that we stamped in the middle with Early Espresso ink, but also all the cute little images. Sunglasses, suns, thongs, bucket and spades with some splatters for good measure. We prepared the card by sponging in several colours randomly around the edge, this one used Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, Melon Mambo and Berrmuda Bay. The images were then randomly stamped using Early Espresso. The thongs were stamped again and cut out. These were then added with dimensionals.
Popped on some Melon Mambo spots.
Then out came our cute This Little Piggie stamp set.
The base card we embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder. The piggies were stamped with Early Espresso. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the correct placement for the top one. Such a handy little tool. We used the Vertical Greetings stamp set for the sentiment. Mounted this on Melon Mambo and then on to the base. You can barely see it but we water coloured the sky and popped in a couple of clouds from the Piggie stamp set. Pretty cute ey!!
Then our final card, we masked the centre of the card with a circle and stamped the base using the Hardwood Stamp set. We then sponged and put in some clouds on the piece we had masked. The window was cut out of Crumb Cake using the Circle framelits. Piggie was stamped on a piece of Whisper White and sponged. We coloured his ears and snout with Blushing Bride. He popped in behind the window and his body trimmed away. The window went up on dimensionals.
We cut 2 Hello's one in Early Espresso and one in Crumb Cake. The Early Espresso is made to look like a shadow behind.
The Friend sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. You just had to squeal with delight with this one don't you recon?
After the class was over I wanted to make another beach card for a friend. This time I wanted a bit more Melon Mambo to come through. This is how it turned out. Which one do you fancy the top one of this pink one?
