So far we have made several cards using only 3 images and 3 sentiments and using either Whisper White or one of the Brights colours card stock. We have stamped in Soft Suede and so far I think we can say that they all look pretty good. So now we are going to step it up a wee bit. On the very first post with the starter kit suggestions, you may remember I had put down Sponges. Now we are going to use them, I could have used them on the first few days cards but I wanted you to feel comfortable with just using the ink with a stamp without introducing something else that may just be a little daunting to a beginner.
(by the way if you are not a beginner and just following along, I would love any comments that could help our beginners)
There are 3 sponges in the bag and if you cut them into segments you can get 8 out of each sponge. This will give you enough for all the colours as you progress.
Sponging gives another dimension to your cards. When you use the sponge, ink it up on your ink pad by dabbing a few times and then hold the the card close to the edge and flick the sponge over the edge. Flick all the way around, go lightly at first as you can always add extra colour but you can't take it off.
Above I have made the same card the only difference is one is landscape and one portrait. Below, again the same layout but this time we are using scraps of our card stock.
